I have lived in Finchampstead since 2005. I am married with 2 children and work for a stonemasonry business. I ran a children's football team at Finchampstead Football Club for 10 years.
I was elected to the borough council in 2016. I was the executive member for Adult Services and Public Health between 2019 and 2022 which spanned the Covid Pandemic. I am deputy leader of the Conservative Group at Wokingham Borough Council.
My main achievements as a councillor have been helping local residents contest planning applications for housing applications at Sand Martins, Woodcray, 6 Johnson Drive, 242 Nine Mile Ride and 33 Barkham Ride. I helped local residents get upgrades to the Rooks Nest Sang and have been involved for years with the campaign to get a 6th form at Bohunt School
If elected my priorities for Finchampstead will be
1 - WBC has made no progress on a new local plan for the last 2 years. This needs to be delivered urgently to ensure Finchampstead can be protected from unsustainable development
2 - The condition of roads in Finchampstead is poor and declining. WBC needs to spend more money on road and pavement maintenance to reduce the number of potholes and upgrade our roads
3 - Speeding is a blight on numerous roads in Finchampstead. If the conservative group gain control of the council we will purchase our own speed cameras which will be targeted at speeding hot spots such as Nine Mile Ride
4 - WBC plans to develop 2 x send schools, a solar farm, an adults residential home and a gypsy and traveller pitch on Barkham Ride. There are also 5 housing applications coming to this road. We will cancel the residential home and the gypsy pitch and review the location of the send schools. We will stagger the development so it does not bring gridlock to the area and look to upgrade Barkham Ride.
