How can our town become more attractive for businesses and more inviting to shoppers?
This year we have heard from businesses, shops, restaurants and markets traders operating in Wokingham town centre saying that they have seen a decline in the number of visitors and reduced revenues. Some businesses have been able to compare to other stores within their chain in other towns and have seen that Wokingham has seemingly been underachieving.
Why is our town underperforming and attracting less visitors compared to neighbouring towns?
Wokingham Conservatives want to understand what the businesses in the town centre see as the barriers and issues that have meant a decline in the last 12-18 months.
We invite those working in town centre businesses to join us at 6pm on Monday 6th November in The Oak Room upstairs at The Rose Inn.
This event will be an open forum where all ideas, thoughts and feedback will be valued to understand what should be done to improve the trading conditions in Wokingham.
Matthew Barber, the Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner, will be attending to hear directly from local business people.
